Sick

Today really sucks! I'm pretty sure that I'm going through caffeine withdrawal (not the first time) It involves a lot of violent shaking, shivering, sweating, and overall not pleasant. Along with all that comes migraines, soreness, queeziness, and a severe lack of sleep due to tossing and turning all night. I'm just posting this because I can't fine Margie's e-mail, and I'm hoping she understands why I can't be in lecture tonight. But I'll do my best to have something to show tomorrow in class.

Killer

So... yeah... just before spring break started, my fiance and I found a kitten at the Lawrence Humane Society, and we couldn't say no. Meet the new member of our family, Killer Stevens.

Tents

What does it take to make a tent?

  • cover from the weather
  • tapestry or some form of wrapping around the outside to protect from wind.
  • something to keep it to surface without wind blowing it away.
  • optional windows for seeing and allowing air in.
  • plenty of room to spread out.
  • a way to close the doors and windows
I really can't think of anything else except that it needs to be put up easily and taken down easily.

Pop-up

I went to Half Priced books this weekend and found a couple of really neat pop up books, and just thought it was rather interesting how amazing these things have become since they first came out. The first one I found was a show of Da Vinci's sketchbook, showing his ideas and what he had in mind for his next project if technology ever managed to catch up to his imagination. The second was a graphic novel of Bram Stoker's Dracula, and it was so much fun to look at that I actually sat in the store and started reading the book. I might have to try my hand at some of these pop-up things.
